Byron Bay English Language School

The Byron Bay English Language School opened in 1998 with the aim of providing high quality English language tuition in a beautiful and natural environment and to compliment this educational experience with a range of activity options.

The Byron Bay English language School is fully accredited with NEAS Australia. NEAS is a government organisation that protects the quality of schools that offer English language tuition to overseas students. It stands for quality.

We are also a member of the Australian Council For Private Education and Training - ACPET.

The school is located in the central part of Byron Bay, 2 minutes walk from the bus stop. We are on the ground floor of a two storey building (picture) in Jonson Lane. Access is also available from Carlyle St. The Bunkhouse backpackers hostel is located on the second level of our building. Outside the classrooms there is a sheltered outdoor garden area for students to relax, eat lunch and enjoy conversations with other students.

Our school is small and friendly.

We want students to feel comfortable and a part of a close encouraging community. Students and teachers often have social gatherings together. Beach barbecues and nights out at a local bar are a great way to make new friends from around the world and to put English skills to practice.

* Average class size= 8    * Max. class size= 12

Most students come from Europe (Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Spain), Asia (Japan, Korea) or South America. Our aim is to attract as many nationalities as possible. Students from all countries are welcome to study in Byron Bay.

Our school offers up to 4 levels of English proficiency: elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate and upper intermediate. All students have the opportunity to move to a higher class as each level is mastered. More study levels are added as student numbers increase.

Prospective students should consult their closest Australian Embassy. Prospective students will require a valid working holiday, three or six month tourist visa or a student visa. These are available from any Australian Embassy. Students who wish to study more than 12 weeks in Australia need a student visa. They must also study full time English for the duration of their visa.
More information about student visas is available from www.studyinaustralia.gov.au
