Lourdes Hill College is situated on the Bulimba Reach of the Brisbane River and set in beautiful surroundings. Over the past 83 years Lourdes Hill College has grown into an educational establishment well respected for the pursuit of achievement and excellence in the education of young women.
Lourdes Hill has a proud record of outstanding academic achievement and high levels of tertiary entrance by students. In addition the curriculum provides for traineeships and other opportunities in vocational education within a multiple pathways framework. A broad range of subject offerings and teaching styles represents a commitment to assisting all students to realise their potential through the pursuit of academic excellence and personal fulfillment. This Good Samaritan Education philosophy is manifested in a curriculum which caters for individual differences. The College has a middle management position specifically designed to mentor and support those students who demonstrate academic achievement at a very high level. The school also has processes in place to respond to the curriculum and assessment of students with identified special learning needs. The College is committed to the pursuit of educational expertise in order to confront the challenge of educating young women in a constantly changing world. The curriculum seeks to reflect both traditional and contemporary aspects and its design takes into account current educational trends and societal issues such as changing employment patterns technological advances and adolescent development.

Lourdes Hill College has a proud tradition of involvement in the Creative Arts particularly music. The Extra-Curricular Music Department is an important part of the College. It aims to provide opportunities for students to take part in music regardless of skills or experience whilst providing challenges and varied opportunities for established musicians. There are many performance opportunities for students; including school and outside concerts assembly performances music competitions/ festivals and music camps. Each year there may be the opportunity for students to apply for an Instrumental Half Scholarship on particular instruments.
Facilities include the Good Samaritan Centre ahigh quality indoor sports facility accommodating netball basketball volleyball badminton and many recreational activities. An outdoor tennis court encourages students to practice and provides an on campus facility for coaching. The College is fortunate in its position along the Brisbane River with the development of water sports including Kayaking sailing and Rowing.
Lourdes Hill College welcomes students from other countries at all year levels from Year 8 to matriculation in Year 12. Not only do we have a lot to offer such students we also believe we have much to gain as a multicultural establishment which advocates friendship tolerance and understanding.
