The campus is home to the Geelong Technology Precinct, described as ‘where University meets industry’. It will expand research and development capabilities and provide opportunities for university-industry partnerships and new enterprises in the region
The Geelong Waterfront campus, opened in 1996 in the former Dalgety Woolstores building on Corio Bay, now houses the School of Architecture and Building, the School of Nursing, the University Chancellery and administrative, service and project centres. The campus is also home to Costa Hall, a world-standard ceremonial and performance space. The nearby Ford Discovery Centre, a joint venture between Ford Australia, the City of Greater Geelong and Deakin University, showcases the past, present and future of Ford in Australia.
Melbourne The Melbourne campus at Burwood, with its distinctive, curved white building is a landmark in the eastern suburbs. As part of an extensive campus redevelopment, new buildings have been constructed in recent years to cater for the environmental science, IT and contemporary arts teaching programs. These join the existing courses in arts, commerce, law, nursing, teacher education, disability studies, psychology, science, sports science and applied sciences. From 2007, international students will utilise the newly constructed, state-of-the-art International Centre.
The Melbourne campus at Toorak provides facilities for Deakin International and the Deakin University English Language Institute (DUELI), the Deakin Business School and the Melbourne Institute of Business and Technology.
